Supercharger Whine

I have been looking at some different videos/clips of S/C LT1's... and I just can never hear any whine from the supercharger. Do any of the entry level kits have a audible and distinct whine to them? I know the new SQ-trims don't (super quiet), but what about the t-trim? Im not really interested in Vortech, and was honestly looking at the P1SC kit w/ twin intercoolers from Procharger. Does that blow make the whine I want? (Which is a loud whine)

The T-trim is annoyingly loud.

The D1SC has a nice wine at Around 3200 RPMs crews but it really screams at full loud pedal.

Only at idle with the P1SC. It is quiet.

Re: Supercharger Whine

I want an annoyingly loud blower I just love the noise, its threatening IMO, so is vortech really the only way to go for the whine I want at idle? I don't care so much about anything after idle, but as long as it makes a lot of noise at idle. I had been planning on heads/cam deal, but why sacrifice driveability for 400rwhp?

That is why I love forced induction, great manners and fuel economy, and awesome performance when you want it. I hear the P600B is a noisy one if you're wanting the procharger, any V1 vortech supercharger will be noisy.

my p600b is incredibly loud. if i have the hood up and give it a little gas, to maybe like 1500, it almost hurts the ears. i go through taco bell and cashiers ask if its supposed to sound like that.

Re: Supercharger Whine

I read somewhere that a lot of the whine comes from the air escaping from the cogs on the belts. Mine is a 5 rib pulley and not a lot of whine (some from the blower) but not enough for me. 177 b&M. I know most of you are talking about different setups

Nah, on centrifigal setups, the belt style doesn't change the noise level. It mostly has to do with the transmission. My D1SC is quiet, but when you order a kit, you can specify a loud blower, and they will most likely get you the loudest out of that batch (the supercharger manf. dB test all the blowers when they build them).

Also, because of where they are mounted on the F-bodies, the engine muffles the sound of the supercharger quite a bit. You can't tell my car has a blower on it, if you didn't know!

My P600B is LOUUUUUUD. You cant hear the stereo at full blast over the blower form outside. Drive thru's-gotta turn her off or I get the wrong order. People always ask " whats wrong- Is it supossed to sound like that?" I just grin and say absolutely

Re: Supercharger Whine

cog setups do make noise, but the whine comes from the straight cut gears
