Supercharger Question / Dilemma

Ok first of all if I decide to supercharge my car, Im giong with the ATI Procharger kit.

I want to know a few things... On a 2001 bone stock LS1 (stock engine, rear end, , tranny, clutch) M6... How much boost is safe to go with, will the motor hold up.... and waht kinda HP / Times are you guys seein with superchargers on LS1 M6's...

I know that I will have to upgrade the rear end, so of course Im going to do that first... while im tehre I will probably have a shop rebuild my tranny with some stronger internals, and Im giong to go wtih a new clutch jsut dont know what kinda clutch yet... Thats all happening this summer. I wont supercharge until next winter becuase of the cost...

Basically I want to know what I shoudl do... Supercharge it, or do heads and cam....

You'll be MUCH happier with H/C and nitrous. LS1 cars run VERY well on the juice.

Yup. I'd do a H/C crack LS1 over a blown LS1 ANY day.

You 03 Buildup link doesnt work... Anyhow. SLP has a nice H/C Package... but then so does MTI (Stage II heads and C4(i think was the model #, their .566 cam)) MTI does cost more money, but ive heard of A4's with 4.10 12 bolts and thier H/C hittin 10.60's just wiht a nice converter too... I havent seen any numbers from the SLP package yet. Or should I just get a massive massive cam (the one I like is from SLP.. .571/.571 283/283 - much larger than the stock cam) and take the cam specs to a shop with my heads and say "Here... make me 500rwhp" ? ?

The one thing that still is going to remain teh same (unless I win the lottery of course) is the work will be done over next winter (downtime)... Still stickin wtih the tranny, clutch, and 12 bolt during teh summertime so that the car can handle the power... Itd make no sense to get some 500 crazy HP and tap the gas oncec and watch the rear end take a hike

I think with all the other mods you'll need to street the extra power that S/C is the way to go. When you want to go fast do you really want to worry about anything except standing on the pedal? I just decided I wanted to have the power on-tap and not have to hassle with filling the bottles, etc. I'm certainly not knocking anyone who uses NO2. It's a great power-adder. I just see it as a budget power-adder...

Of course that doesn't mean I won't be adding a bottle to the trunk in a few months...
