i have a 96 z28 with a 355 forged bottom end i have a vortech with 10 pounds of boost my question is should i upgrade my cam from my 218/224 to a 224/236 114lsa or should i put in a front mount intercooler also does anyone know where to get the intercooler and piping needed to do the job

 

I would do the IC...

you can get a intercooler from ebay along with the pipe...its going to be cheaper then swaping the cam.. and you should see a 20% gain

 

20% gain...I think you're an optimist An intercooler is a good idea as high intake temperatures promote detonation issues. You might also look into meth injection.

If you're talking about a 20% gain in HP, then I'm going to have to go with OBE on this one. Although an intercooler can be wise upgrade, I would have to say that you would be hard pressed to see a 20% gain. And since you don't know his "compressor discharge temp", I think it's even more difficult to estimate what kind of gain (if any) he may see.
