supercharger

I am thinking about puting a supercharger on my stock 1995 Z28 and want to know if this is a bad idea with the LT1 having 10.5 compression or is there no real problems .

what mods do you currently have, maybe you should start out with some bolt-ons first

Will blow the ringlands.

Theres a reason my D1SC has NOT been put on the car yet.

Wait until you can build a forged shortblock, then blow it.

So it sounds like a bad idea
I have a Dynamax exaust, K&N cold air ,Hypertec programer with 160 thermostat and I did the coolent bypass on the throttle body and a Hurst shifter.
So is there a way to make a little more power without teasring in to the engine?
I have been told headers don't make a difference till 450 hp

Yep, definatly a good mod. to do. LT1s respond nicely to headers.

Dont waste your time on a throttle body yet.

And if you want the power of a supercharger, with more reliability, why not add Nitrous? Just spray a 50-75 shot, and do all the safety equipment with it such as a WOT switch, Window Switch, Fuel Pressure Safety Switch, step colder spark plugs, and a good fuel pump. You wont have to tear into the motor. The power is there WHEN YOU WANT IT, not all the time. It doesnt raise your IAT's. Pretty much, Nitrous is NOTHING like what you see in the movies. It does blow its fair share of engines, but its commonly when the simple safety steps are skipped. Or someone gets greedy and jets it too high.

In all seriousness, I think it would be a good option for you if you want the blower power, but dont want to tear into the engine. Just dont spray nitrous on it if its your daily driver. Actually, if its your daily driver (As in, you have no other vehicle), I wouldnt do anything more than bolt ons. Asking for trouble if you ask me but ...
