Supercharger?
Supercharger?
What do you guys think about a brand new Powerdyne LT1 supercharger setup for sale. Its the 6 lb version. Its a complete kit in satin. It has all the original parts and manuals. I can get my hands on it for about a grand. Is it worth it?
PS: I have 77k miles and need a tune up soon also.

Re: Supercharger?
This would really be better suited for the forced induction section. I think you'll find your answers in there. But, IMO, the powerdyne isn't worth it. You will be unhappy with the results quickly. I would start off with a Vortech or Procharger setup. You have alot more options when it comes time to upgrade your kit. The power you will get out of the Powerdyne will be less than a average head/cam package at best.
Re: Supercharger?
If it has all the parts and it is in good shape it is definately worth $1000.
With stock motor/internals, my Powerdyne 4# made 359.2 rwhp.
With 6# pulley it made 380.4 rwhp and within 3 months it cracked
the ring lands on seven(7)pistons.
With rebuilt 383, cam and mild head work, the 6# Powerdyne made
450 rwhp. I went power crazy and sprayed it with a 150 shot and it
made 597 rwhp and 715 rwtq.
