supercharger

thinking about going with a vortech supercharger, is there anything i need to upgrade on the motor, to handle it

How long do you plan on running it for, how much PSI etc.?

At this point, I would wait for the AFR heads to come out, a decent cam and exhaust mods and put down similar rwhp for less $$$ and not have to worry about popping the motor.

i agree with the above.

a decent cam and some head work putss you right at a solid 425 or so hp at the wheels. and you could probably do that for under $3000.

most SCs are running $5000 or more.

I'd rather be N/A than FI. I say go H/C and a stroker kit, you'll be better off, faster, and have the forged internals you want/need

There is so many upgrades outside of the engine that also need to be addressed such as ignition, fuel, tuning and monitoring system. Going the blower route is extremely expensive.

Not to mention the drivetrain. You'll more than likley have to have the clutch replaced, and you'll probably want to have your rearend replaced with a 12 bolt, 9", or 8.8" with new gears. There's more to it than just the blower

you would have to consider forged internals, and a better rear. the car can run 6psi with minimal problems. my mistake was i bought a twin turbo kit, stock rear, stock pistons, and had the boost too high. go the n/a route. having a f.i is something to brag about, and the sound is great of the sudden "whoosh" or whine. but nothing to brag about paying big bucks to get you car to move again without the help of a tow truck.
