Question supercharged lt1

hey everybody i know are engines dont like superchargers because of the high comression. . .but now how can you lower the compression so you can slap a supercharger on the lt1.. .because i have the funds right now to get s/c but in the future i dont think im going to have money for a rebuild for a long long time . . i have 85,000 on the car and i herd that lt1 will only last 30,000 if your lucky with as/c is this true??well how can i make the engine last?? thanks for checking out my thread

man no way if you go wiht a nice mild set up liek a 4-6 psi s/c you will be fine just have to do some tweaking to your fuel system..it's when you get to the big boys liek a 8-9 psi s/c and are running unitercooled you need to check you head and your engine will get messed up good style fomr detonation

Dont waste your money on a powerdyne. The whole goal of this is to go fast, right?

It is all in the tuning.

I've pounded the crap out of my motor w/ just 6psi. My fuel is there, and my spark is certainly where it needs to be. I expect my car to live forever. But- I'll never know. My new motor goes in this winter!

run a mix of race gas and pump gas and very good tuning is about the only ways to keeping it alive. 85k is a lot to throw boost at. I would be very careful, your not going to able to beat on it.

How about dropping the Dynamic Compression Ratio with a cam swap? It will help a little. But the static compression really gets those temps up and the hypereutechtic pistons are fagile.

A 4.5 Powerdyne will get you somewhere in the neighborhood of 110 HP. Nitrous kits will net you more power... it almost isn't worth a supercharger unless you get above 8 PSI and more. Personal opinion.
