STS semi related question
STS semi related question
I saw on the site, and maybe they can answer, that at 13psi with alky on a stock motor including stock manifolds I assume, that it made nearly 600 rwhp and I forget how much rwtq. I am about to build a turbo setup for a non F-bod car with a stock lt1 with 22cc dished pistons being the only major mod, but the turbos will be in a more traditional location. My question is was that on a stock tune? I would be having mine dyno tuned and probably running 2 intercoolers with whatever that compression will allow (maybe 12 psi ide guess) and have just been pondering if I would see close numbers. I just thought those numbers sounded quite high so maybe there was work done to the lt1 in that particular test... just curious.
Re: STS semi related question
If I am correct, that was a completely stock LT1 running 12psi. It did not last; the connecting rods bent. If you have stock rods, I would replace them too. I cant remember about the tune, but rest asured, you need one no matter what. I think the torque was close to 700.
Re: STS semi related question
No, the 'stock' engine (modified LS1 rods in a LT1 and 8.7 forged pistons) made 520 hp and 600 trq. It lasted awhile, but the rods decided to bend. The 600/600+ isn't in catastrophic melt down (as far as my last conversation with Rick at STS.)
