Stock Injectors - LS1?
Stock Injectors - LS1?
How much HP can the stock LS1 Injectors handle when adding boost? Anyone boosting on stock injectors? At what point should one consider bigger injectors? 400rwhp? 500rwhp???
Thanks,
Kenny

I think fuel injectors are pretty much all the same, as far as compatibility, right? Back to my question, at what point is it advisable to swap out the fuel injectors? Better question, on a stock LS1 running say 5-6lbs boost on an intercooled twin turbo setup, what size injector should I be looking into?
I would say that your best bet would be a 42lb/hr fuel injector. You are better off going a little bigger because everyone always turns the boost up a little more then they think that they will. It gives you some room to grow...
The mileage that you will get out of the stock injectors depends on the year as well. I believe the 97-98 injectors were 28# injectors and the 99-2001 were 26# injectors, then I believe that they went back to the 28s.

To go further with the ls1 to lt1 injector question....I don't think they are swappable. Aren't the ls1 injectors rated at a higher fuel pressure so they would actually be alot smaller in effect on an lt1?

98, 01-02 Injectors = 28lb
99-00 = 26lb
The 28's are good for 450rwhp, 26s die at 425rwhp.
The LS1s are rated at 4 bar (58psi). A 28lb (at 4bar) injector will flow 24lbs at 3 bar. So put a stock 28lb LS1 injector into a stock LT1, it won't know the difference (94+)
