Stock heads with turbo?

How much of a restiction are stock heads when boosted?

I'm trying to buy a forged low-compression (I think it's 8.5:1) 355 bottom end from someone, and I was going to get an S-trim from a friend of mine, but today another guy I know emailed me asking if I was interested in a "T-60 turbo kit." (That's all the email said, I think it must be a Turbo Tech kit.)

Anyhow I'd like to run about ten or twelve pounds with the forged bottom end, but I'm not really too keen on spending the additional money for extensive head work at this time. I'm already putting in a new trans with all this stuff, and the bills are looking bigger and bigger. Given the right cam (suggestions? ) will the stock heads flow enough for this?

Thanks!

Chris, heads really arent that important on a force inducted application like it is on a n/a Motor. Sure some nice ported heads will lower your boost level but also give you the same hp without running as much boost which allows you to run more boost b/c the restiction isnt there anymore. Example, say I was running 12psi of boost and making 500rwhp on stock heads. If I were to swap those stock heads with some nicely posted ones I would most likely see less boost but will not lose any horepower. The answer to that would be to pulley up and run mor boost. So there really isnt any down fall to running stock heads but some nice ported set would be bennificial but not neccessary. As far as cams go i would suggest you going to www.combinationmotorsports.com or call Seth and talk to him about a turbo cam for your car.

After a certain point you will probably need some valve work.
