Stock crank limits?
#3
many have gone way past 500hp with it. Its not real easy to define a limit for it since so many have made big numbers with one(750hp).
Look on the list of the fastest LT1's. Theres a guy with a H+C 355, 300 DP shot, and running high 9's @138ish. Hes not the only one whose doin this sort of thing.

Its not the crank but the mains. There are plenty of LS1 guys making close to, if not over, 4 digit HP with factory 6 bolt mains and a stock crank.
If you 4 bolt the mains and use a stock crank it will probably take all you can throw at it.

The crank might take some FI torque to make big power, but at higher rpms, the iron crank and 2 bolt caps will flop around more and mess up the bearings. I'd say you can go 600 hp maybe FI and somewhat less NA because of the need to rev.

Ill let you know
Im doin a little experiment as we speak. Got a full weight 4th gen pushin 5 psi and a 150 shot right now @ 12:1 A/F. Going to a smaller pulley and 175 shot soon as I get my ET Streets and a new opti. If it doesnt scatter at the track, ill take her to the dyno for ***** and giggles and see what she can muster up. Any guesses?
