you cant boost more than 6# safetly IMHO
just get a vortex
on a vortc, can you manually adjust the boost....for instance if i didn't want to run 6# of boost all of the time, could i nock it way down till i needed it then jack it back up (when at track) ?

you can do that on every s/c I know of
The general rule of thumb is that you can run 8lbs intercooled and 6lbs non-intercooled. You are going to spend over 3000 on a P1SC kit. Then you are going to need gages, scanmaster, some type of retard system, plug & wires. Personally I think you will have alot more fun and alot less issues going with a head and cam package. I will tell you first hand that buying the blower is the cheap part of the project. Rebuilding shortblock is what is going to cost you a good chunk of change.

then again that isn't a black and white issue, its kind of a gery area
anyway, i agree with the heads and cam thing and the expensive thing...
is this was a fox body or an L91 vette i guess blower wouldn't be so bad.
you really need a blower cam and heads to get good gains from a blower anyway. Forced induction is more than a simple bolt on

AND Fuel system, reprograming, tranny, money for rebuild when it blows. Dont SC unless your prepared to spend big dollars and pull your hair out. Like trey said you dont just bolt on a 140hp. Stangs yes maybe, our cars no. Somtimes i wish i had a NA monster but nothings beats the sound of 12psi
.ATI is very good.

ATI is the best kit on the market. Perfectly safe for a 4th gen. These kits can be put on in about 8 hours. I've experienced every blower on a 4th gen and have to say that the biggest gain is through ATI. Just run good fuel and tune a little on the rich side. Be smart with it because you can blow your motor real fast. Detonation is your #1 enemy. No holes to drill in the oil pan with the P1SC and the parts fit together real nice.
I have to disagree with the naysayers about S/C'ing these things. My 8 pound intercooled LS1 Formula went up 141 horsepower on 91 octane pump gas. It's a daily driver (55 mile round trip) and gets upwards of 17mpg when I don't stand on it. And when I do, it burns the tires off...
The trick to supercharging a car (especially these cars) is TUNING! Get the right injectors, get someone that knows how to dyno tune and use LS1Edit. The rest is just pure fun.
I've had H/C, Nitrous, and Supercharger. They all have their pro's and con's, but in the "attention" category, the S/C wins everytime. It also wins much more often than not in the 1/4 mile category.
