Is it safe to boost...

Check out my sig, my CR is 11.2 with about 400 RWHP.

Is it safe to lightly boost my engine or will I blow things up. I am thinking 5-6# or so.

Thanks

At 11.2:1 with a cast piston, they will break in a matter of time

A forged piston is much stronger than a cast piston.

Typically you want to reduce the compression ratio of the engine when going to a forced induction setup. 11.2 is a high compression ratio which will be much harder to keep the engine out of detonation on pump gas (91 - 93 octane). Detonation will destroy your engine over time.

Your compression ratio is more set-up for spray. So I would just get some n20 if you want more power now...

If you really want boost - you should AT LEAST get your compression down to the mid 9's

Unless you are running some extreamly tight ring gaps, a 100hp-150hp shot would probably work out just fine. A stock LT-1 will survive this kind of spray, providing you take the necessary safety measures.
