A sad day(parting out my setup)

After spending the last few months in battle with trying to figure the gremlins in my car, I have given up. It's something electrical and I don't have the patience anymore to try to figure it out. Based on the 101mph in the 1/8th on 8lbs, I know the car had great potential, mid/high 9's with the boost turned up wouldn't have been a problem.

I'll be selling my complete turbo kit(real quick hot parts), along with the motor, and misc items. Going to keep the transmission for now, and I think I will hold onto the chassis incase I want to do a big block or something down the road, unless someone wants to offer me good money for it.

Here is the for sale thread...

That sucks to hear. Watching your builds convinced me to go turbo!

Side note... Do you know what headers that kit uses as the base?

Sorry to hear you are parting out. There are only 3 things: Fuel, air, and spark. Surely you can make your turbo setup work. I hate to see such a bad *** setup get sold.

yea Justin, like I told you, youve got soo much into it, it would be a huge loss to just get rid of it...with the time youve spent on making it run, a little bit more to reach your goal, which is fairly hard to do and your so close...would be the real failure...

I honestly haven't enjoyed the car this year at all, been fighting this problem since middle of March and with the local racing scene going way down hill I have no motivation anymore to finish it. It really is sad because it's such a great setup with insane potential, but for now this is the best thing for me.

maybe pick up a stock LT1, put the formula on the back, and build another LT1?

my stuff didnt run for 3 years and im still working out bugs....but thats what you do when you build it yourself, thats part of the fun and bragging rights that you actually did the work...i cant believe you panzies give up so easily, unless you need the $$ i couldnt see any reason except laziness to not finish, no one ever said it was easy to put together a turbocharged ltx car, if it was easy everyone would do it....sorry guys dont mean to rant on you but i just dont see the reasoning behind your madness...what is the electrical problem???

Just an fyi, I've built the car completely in my garage, have well over 400 hours in my engine bay alone. Obviously it isn't easy, I'm just done with this setup, don't have the motivation anymore.

youve just re-stated the reason why i said you should keep going, but either way go on and give up, in this world there are hunters and farmers, people who make things happen and people who wait wround for things to happen for them, not saying either is bad in there own respects, but great things come to those with perserverance (sp?)...i think you should work out the bugs...i hate seeing people give up because of "loss of motivation", like i said before, your building(built) it and thats part of the bragging rights, i'd hate to say "i tried but i let myself fail because of a loss of motivation"
