S/C cam selection for stock heads

I'm hoping to solicit some been there done that advice from you guys..

I'm running a S-trim with a aftercooler and the stock motor spun a rod bearing finally after about 60k miles with the s-trim.. anyway I'm in the process of fixing up the shortblock with forged goodies. Due to budget constraints I'm planning on keeping the top half stock for the time being and i'm looking for a decent s/c cam for the stock heads. I'll most likely be installing some fresh springs as preventative maintenance. but I would like to keep the "while i'm there i might as well.." to a minimum. so no fancy roller rockers and whatnot for now.

Thanks
-Jacob

Jacob,

I also have a ZZ4 camshaft that I'll sell. It may be along the lines of what you're looking for. 208/221 .474/.501 112lsa (1.5 rockers).
Little higher intake duration than stock, lot of exhaust duration to help get that air out of there. Little higher lift than stock but should be fine with stock springs. Also, this cam makes TORQUE. Don't know for sure but the cam doesn't seem like it has much overlap which is good in a blower app as well. Has a slight lope to it but sounds even tamer than a hotcam.

Go with a supercharger cam off like tbyrne or combination m.s. Something along the lines of hotcam specs or lower, with at least about 10* more exhaust duration than intake and based on a 114 LSA. It will sound relatively tame at idle, good idle quality. If yer looking for an all around performance cam, go with something similar to cc305, it would work good with a supercharger

i've got a 224/236 on a 114 fs but it's suggested you port the heads and run headers on that cam. so you may have to go smaller. if your interested in the cam it's nib i decided on a turbo instead.
