Running Crappy

So I was thinking I needed a new set of plugs.

And then I realized the absence of the aux-fuel pump buzzing noise..

checked the connections, then the fuse....voila. Melted like a candy bar on the sidewalk.

Cut the old fuse holder out and put a new one in. Problem (partially) solved.

Still need to upgrade the wiring from 12 to 10 gauge, but the real problem was water in the fuse connector led to corrosion and failure. The actual burnt fuse still had conductivity, so that was why the car was getting worse and worse over time. With the corrosion, the resistance held heat and melted the fuse holder and fuse but maintained connection.

The car was running crappy even when the Fuel Pump was working, but with the new connections, the fuel pump is a lot more active and noisy and the car romps with enthusiasm again.

Hope it didn't mess up your intank pump. Those fuse connectors have caused me trouble too. My electric water pump quit working due to the cheap fuse connector I used. Put in a better connector and voila water pump worked like a charm again.

Mine had the weirdest problem. The in-line pump its self was slightly shorting to ground and I used the same connection spot as my ABS so my ABS never worked since the pump install (I also installed the SC and ls1 brakes at the same time). I didn't figure that out till I got the shop manual to really diagnosed my ABS problem. No shop could figure it out.
