I don't think there is NEAR enough room for a roots on top of that thing...besides, the current intake configuration would have to be changed.

Well, if you've seen a roots blower, you'll notice it sits on top of engine. This will not work very well with the standard LS1/LS6 front fed intake manifold. If they have a roots blower for the C5, it would have to replace the stock manifold with a custom intake to feed from the top down. And they would have to make it VERY low profile (relative to a standard roots) and would most likely have to forget an intercooler for height reasons (and I wouldn't personally run a non-cooled blower on a high compression aluminum block LS1). All in all, not a good idea.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for one. As you probably already know, clearing the cowl would be a problem...and probably the main reason why there isn't a roots blower for an F-body.

The LS1/6 isn't sitting under the cowl on a C5 so the only modification needed, is a new hood.

LPE offers the Magnacharger for pretty much every V8 GM vehicle, except F-bodies...if they were going to offer one, I think they would've already done it by now.

PS - There's nothing wrong with centrifugal superchargers.

I know magna charger has been working on a set-up.
I seen pic's of it & it was a funky set-up.
Haven't heard a peep in a while though...

That's what I was going to say.. magnacharger.com they have roots style super chargers for your LS1 powered f-body. They look pretty cool too.

magnacharger has them for LS1 and soon to be Lt1 but only for the vette and custom hotrods. I talked with them and they said they tryed to fit it in the fbody but the cowl was in the way and since people are not willing to cut up the cowl they scraped the idea. You could still order the kit and make it fit, but it'll cost lots of money, since the kit is pricey plus new hood and working the cowl

Would going to a dry sump oil system allow you to drop the engine down another inch or two enough for it to fit?

I have spoken to Magacharger today. The LT1 kit for the F Body will be ready for production in 6 month. There was a fitment issue but they are going with a smaller caseing to clear in the rear. I am going to hold out for it.

They may have solved the clearance issues but there is the hp/dollar issue. They claim 100 hp gains. 5 grand is a lot for 100 hp!
But it is a nice looking package.
