Ram air hood with Supercharger
Ram air hood with Supercharger
I have a 95 z with a powerdyne supercharger.. I also currently bought an ss hood that is not functional should i make it functional or not worth my time..thanks,Beau
Re: Ram air hood with Supercharger
Well you won't be able to hook it up to the blower
but you may get some airflow through your engine compartment. Mine was funcional but after putting in the blower the best air intake setup for the powerdyne was some home depot ABS plumbing fittings, a 3 by 4" elbow, a 4" connector, about a foot of 4" ABS, then a 4" to 3" reducer.

Re: Ram air hood with Supercharger
I have a 96 SS with an ATI P1SC. I use the intake with a 4 X 6 Heat sink bolted onto the LT4 manifold. The air hits the HS and extracts heat from the intake manifold and blows more cool air over my headers, etc.
I measured the temperature changes on my intercoolers and the heat sink and found that as I drove, the temp did drop precipitously, to below 100*F at the manifold, while the Intercooler temps were below 90*. Upon stopping (no airflow), the temps all rose quickly, especially the heatsink. The ram air intake is my intake cooler now. Works like a champ.
