Question regarding turbo install
Question regarding turbo install
Was in the process of welding up headers today and when the turbo was resting in it's final place, it was slightly tipped on it's horizontal plane.
My question is do the turbo's need to be exactly parallel with the ground, or can they be tilted some?
This twin setup is coming along just fine! All I have had to get rid of is the AC compressor and lines, and relocate the battery to the rear. Stock accessory bracket will remain in place! Only hurdle will be to get the 1LE pulley and modify the bracket to sneek the 3" downpipe thru, and rerouting of the heater core and powersteering lines, but that doesn't appear to be a problem.
Just wanted to know if the turbo will be a problem, the header is tacked right now with only one primary on it, but now is the time to correct something, if you know what I mean!

I looked in Maximum Boost and the only reference that I could find with the 30 deg's is for the oil inlet and drain. Could you point me in the right direction if I'm missing something?

You're right, I was looking at the picture thinking it was from the other side.
I'm not sure than how much you could actually tilt it, but there has to be some allowable deviation from perfectly level.
How many degrees do you have it tilted?
