question on horsepower, and how much fuel to get there.

Hey guys, Im trying to plan my setup over here and id rather not have to buy this stuff twice. First of all, Id like everyones input on how much power I should be making, and also what size injectors and fuel system im going to need to get there and keep it safe and reliable. heres a little info on the setup.

Its an 8.75:1 355, all forged, Diamond pistons, callies crank and rods, cloyes double roller, and Electric water pump, all from Victory!
Im going to be running an air/water aftercooled Vortech T-trim pullied up to approx 18#s im guessing. Maybe more down the road but i doubt it. Its going to have a blower cam from Bret but unfortunately no specs to be given out. Stock heads with mild sanding to clean em up a tad with 1.52 comp pro mags. cam is aiming for power between 2500-6500. power is all going through a 6-speed. Anyhow, How much power do you guys think Ill be making and what injectors and fuel pump setup do ya reccomend?

will mototron 60s be enough with a walbro 255 and wiring kit?

I think you should at least plan on an all out porting job on the stock heads or some TFS heads. I'd personally rather see better flowing heads and a little less boost to make the same HP. I'm not too familiar with Vortech stuff but I assume a T trim is similar to a D1 ProCharger.

If you assume 630 RWHP with a 20% drivetrain loss you'll get 787 FWHP.
A supercharged motor has around .55 BSFC so .55 x 787/ 8 cyl = 54 lbs/ hr.
54 /.85 (85% duty cycle) = 63.5 lb/hr. So, you'll be a little high on the duty cycle with the 60 lbers., probably, and assuming the pump you refer to is the Racetronix kit with harness, you'll need a Boost-a-pump to go with that, at a minimum.

By the way, I hope you've planned on the supporting mods also. Rear end, driveshaft, brakes, clutch/flywheel, scattershield possibly, etc.

The high lb/hr high impedance injectors are going to be tough to tune, I recommend you switch to low impedance injectors. See the link below for a good write-up.

Your fuel system should support the power you will make just fine. Its the same fuel setup I am running with my 383 LT1, Ported AFR heads, D1SC with 15#s. Your heads are going to kill the power you could have had with a nice ported set. Also this is a very basic guess since you have no numbers for the cam either, but I would say you are looking at about 520-560 at the wheels all said and done.

Just to be on the safe side I would do with dual intanks and 73lbs injectors. The boost-a-pump is a band-aide if you plan on running more than 500hp.

The dual intank Walboro's with a HOBBS switch has proven to safely support well over 1000 RWHP. A boost a pump is unecissary, and unless he plans on putting down over 700 RWHP, anything more than 60# injectors and it will be too much, and potential power will be lost. (This is straight from the mouth of one of the highest acclaimed tuners for LT1's)

well, id like to run about 700rwhp if possible, but i dont know if my heads will allow it. I will have roller rockers and a decent cam, but i only planned on sanding down the intake and exhaust runners to remove flash and casting grit. I do have headers and an electric cutout though so I will be flowing plenty on the loud end.

I am by no means an expert at guessing HP, but with you still having stock heads, I really doubt you'll come close to your goal of 700 at the wheels. Heads are key to making good power, wheather it be N/A or Supercharged. With a nice set of Ported Trick Flows or something, I would say you could probably make it, but I just don't see you getting there with the stock ones.
