Pulley change to lower boost in a P600B

My 383 went bad, spun bearings, killed the crank! So for now I'm dropping the stock shortbock in with the 230/236 "small cam" and my heads, P600B etc. I do have the 3 core intercooler and it's mounted in the front of the car.

I have 15Lb pullies, 10 rib belt, but actually only saw 9-10# on the gauge, but I fear killing the stock bottom end if it makes 10+ of boost.

What do I need to lower the boost? Is it just the pulley on the SC, or do I need to change crank, idler and SC pulley to lower the boost down to 6-7#. Could I rig the bypass valve not to fully close and bleed off some boost? I just want to be able to drive it around and play a bit while I save for the 383 rebuild.

Thanks,

JB

Just change the s/c pulley. Go slightly bigger on the s/c pulley and it will lower the boost.

Why did you spun a bearing with your built 383 ? Just curious.

Not sure, I really don''t think it was anything I did, so I think the tolerences weren't right or something to that effect. I put allot of money into this thing to go bad this quickly! It spun every main bearing and dug some deep grooves into the crank.
