PTK LT1 results for those that were interested

I posted this on another site...so it was a copy and paste...

One of my customers called this morning he finally got some track results on his LT1 kit. He does not visit message boards, so with his permission I asked if I could post his results, he had no objections to that. So with that being said.

The car is a 95 Camaro Z28, 6spd, stock gears, bone stock motor except for 1.6RR's and addition of suspension components. Car dynoed 275 rwhp N/A with headers, catback, usual bolt-ons and Nitto DR's and ran 13.2@105 with 1.8 60ft. The car is using the PTK Gen 1 street kit with PT66 p-trim .96 A/R. Peak torque and boost was at 3400rpms. The customer has the stock K-member still on the car so his Downpipe was limited to only 2.5". Car was dyno tuned at 8psi on 93 pump gas and tap water in the intercooler and made 479rwhp/555rwtq. He ran the car with that setup...

60ft- 1.87
1/8th- 7.41@102.40
1/4- 11.31@126.54

Of course I don't think the motor will last long that way...hehe, but hey its not my car. He has ordered a meth injection kit as well and will be trying that with more boost, should be interesting. I know its an LT1, but the LS1 should have even better results.

very nice, esp considering that tiny downpipe.

Torque seems to be a little on the high side...but the numbers are solid. I know of a front mount LS1 with a t-76 that makes 505rwtq @ 8psi. I havent seen torque that high on a stock LT1. Very nice.

Realquick, that typical of an LT1. They make gobs of torque. Another member on this board has a Gen1 kit with a stock motor 94 Z28 and its an auto. That car made 567rwtq at 8-9psi.

Holy smokes Jose. Does the LS1's make less torque in general?

Not really, but torque also depends on the turbo head unit you use, as well as the turbo setup. The laggier the system the less peak torque #'s you'll get. Thats why a Supra will make 900rwhp, but only 600rwtq.

I cant wait till my car goes on the dyno... From only a "355" I think it'll show what the PTK kit can do on a "street only" car.

I believe with meth injection or ice in the IC and around 9-10psi, 10.9's@130 could be done. All from a T66 and 2.5" DP on a bone stock motor...hehe, not bad. I am waiting to see wat your car will do with that GT45. I believe you will have solid 700rwhp monster.

Hey jose, care to share what his fuel system setup is? Also how was it tuned (timing, a/f, etc..)? I will need to answer these if you ever ship me my kit!

p.s. can you email me my build # yet?

I dont care how much more it is, the proof is in the track times just how much better than crappy STS this kit is. It's funny, all the STS cars have kind of impressive dyno numbers, yet they all seem to run 12s with decent trap speeds. And it's also funny that STS dyno graphs have an uncanny resemblance to Supra dyno graphs... So STS spools like a supra, and performs like a supra at the track. Look at this PTK car... 479rwhp and a 126 mph trap speed. In the recent GMHTP on the review of the STS LS1 car, that car mustered a lack luster 118 mph trap speed, and that was with a built 396 motor and a T70 turbo!!!!!! oddly enough it also ran in the 12s..... the PTK car is deep in the 11s on a stock motor. IS there any STS car in the 11s? and at what trap speed? even STS cars with the built motors arent mustering anything but 12s from what I've seen. Are there any STS LT1 cars out there with STOCK MOTORS (not semi-stock, or almost stock, or "stockish") that have any track times?

Your money arguement sucks, anyone who doesnt see the obvious difference in real world performance is blind. dyno numbers are cute and not much more.

nice times. It's a nice looking kit. I'd prolly by the hot parts if I didn't already have materials to build my own. Jose, have you had any luck with sourcing a vband flange for the MP GT45? I'm still needing one.

great job dumbass

turning this thread into another fricking STS arguement...

more than what? i wasnt comparing STS to this kit... i was saying impressive results and saying the price seems steep... i never said STS was good/cheap or anything remotely related to STS... shows me why i shouldnt even argue with you...

it sounds like u asked STS for a free kit, and they said no, so now u hate them, and talk **** bout'em wherever u see/hear the word turbo...

geez, bringing STS into every ****ing thread

I even emailed my friend telling him how great/impressive the results were...

u are the weakest *** link

Why didnt you address any of my arguements? All you did was insult me. People resort to insults when they have nothing valid to say in return. You do as much advertising for STS as I do posting my opinions on the kit. If you dont like it dont post on the internet Sorry the thread got off topic Jose. Awesome stuff you got going there

I wouldnt use an STS kit if it was given to me for free for what it's worth. I'd sell it
