PTK LT1 car at the track with PTE-88

I posted this already on ls1tech, so I will copy and paste here...

Well guys my customer called this morning and was able to make a track pass with his 355 LT1 with the PTK kit and custom T88. Car ended up making 1012rwhp/909rwtq at 24psi. Its a full weight 3700 lbs car. Car was set at 24psi, on race fuel and ice in the intercooler. Anyhow, I will have the timeslip posted in a few mins.... For those that haven't seen the history behind the car, you can see it below....

2nd post...
Well here is the slip guys... he made 3 passes. 1st pass was aborted due to missed shift. 2nd pass produced the slip. 3rd pass produced a sheared input shaft on the tranny. BTW, this is a D&D T56, so don't think the stocker will handle that...hehe.

BTW, my scanning skills aren't that great, so I didn't know what resolution to set it at. So if it looks fuzzy..sorry..lol. My scanner needs a turbo

Well they said at first PTK's kit wouldn't make that much power, since they only specialized in mustangs. Now the LT1 is doing good. They now say the LS1 system isn't proven, so we will deal with that next. The C5 and Viper are on the list as well...lol.

Re: PTK LT1 car at the track with PTE-88

amazing...wonder what that setup would do in my car with a 3300 lbs raceweight and 1.3 60's(still a 6 speed)

Keep the numbers coming...love those front mounts. 156 mph is just crazy..and this was basically shake down runs with the new setup.

Yeah they are shakedowns, but I just don't see the 6spd taking to much more. Heck it sheared the input shaft...lol. In a car like yours I don't see 160mph being a problem and possibly 8's with your 60ft. Just need a good 6spd that can take it. Its a miracle the block is taking the abuse. I figured it would have let go by now....guess I was wrong...oh well. Maybe the LT1 is stronger then we have been thinking.

Re: PTK LT1 car at the track with PTE-88

that car is pretty much pushing the limits of everything. In a lighter car the 6 speed would have a better chance of living..not as much weight to get moving. I think the blocks are stronget than we have been thinking. Plus the fact thats its a 355 means that no clearancing of the block was needed which should make it stronger than a clearanced block. It not being filled and the eagle setup taking this kind of power is just amazing to me.

What clutch is he using to take that kind of power? I could always put a glide behind that sucka and really fly.

He's running a street twin. Only thing that will take that kind of power for sure. Heck I believe Taner is running the street twin and getting 1.3 60fts as well.

Re: PTK LT1 car at the track with PTE-88

Would the g-force T-56 stand a better chance? I was looking on their site and they claimed it would hold up to 1200 HP & about 800 tq. Just wondering, I am going down this same road with my car.

P.S. Thanks Jose for helping me with my T-88

Props, nice MPH. I would love to see that psi on my boost gauge.

We'll see what happens next. Maybe more boost, but a better tranny will come first.

Re: PTK LT1 car at the track with PTE-88

Why in the world anyone would say PTK can't make power because they do mostly Mustangs is beyond me. A turbo kit is a turbo kit. If you have the knowledge and machine work to build a good kit for one car there is no reason why you can't buyild one for another. People just like to hate.

I'm still callin shenanigans!
