PTK 76GTS track results

Hey guys I said I would post this when I had some time, well I got a break today. Anyhow you can see in the thread below what mods the car has done to it and dyno results at 18psi.

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314072

Anyhow the new track results weren't anything special ET wise, he was able to only make 1 run and then the tranny broke at the line on the 2nd pass. According to him, it sounds like the first gear teeth on are gone in the tranny...hehe. Guess the stock T56 just can't handle alot of abuse...hehe

Anyhow, the results show the car is making good power.... His runs peaked at 20psi, on race fuel and ice water in the Intercooler.

60ft-1.73
1/8th- 6.70@117.70
1/4-10.13@150.29

I don't think he will be pushing the car much more, but you have to love that the LT1 is still giving the LS1 a run for the money in the FI world. I have offered to let him try my T88 at the same boost level, but he passed....oh well. At least we know the 76GTS is a peformer and still has more left in it. BTW, this time he lightened the car up some. Only 1/4 tank of gas, no spare and jack, rear seats taken out. Car orignally is 3680 with him in it and loaded. Probably 50-75lbs less this time, which of course makes a huge difference.

Re: PTK 76GTS track results

Rodrigues, if someone out there that has a PTK kit and wants to try it out for some high boost test runs, then by all means they can contact me. As for the 61's give me a call......

Shawn, yeah these guys are pushing these kits like I had hoped. My STS customer that made 727rwhp is planning on hitting the track soon. I am curious to see how its going to run since its pretty similar to this PTK car in weight, same turbo and close to the same hp, but the broadness of the curve will hurt him somewhat. I think it will make for a great comparison. Both are running water to air IC's so outside temps will have very little effect ont their results. But I still think a mid 10@13X is in the car.

I can't wait to try 15# on my 383. Although going on my 8th week is getting old. I guess good things come to those who wait.

Well Jim you are carrying more weight but still running a better ET. At the same weight you would be 155+ or so. Which is even more impressive.

I think that car most likely has a 9 second ET in it, it's obvious from the power and previous ETs that it's there. Nice gain on mph too

Re: PTK 76GTS track results

LT1s make some awesome turbo motors, and why wouldnt they. They are just a 23* headed sbc, so parts arent expensive and the knowlege is there. These turbo LT1 cars are really flying, dont count us out yet, Big Rick would agree. 7s in a turbo LT1 here we come!

Re: PTK 76GTS track results

Yeah I think Rick is going to push the LT1 into new territory for sure. Also I talked to my customer today and he is somewhat interested in trying my T88.... . So lets see what happens....
