procharger or turbo

im thinking of either getting the procharger or the sts turbo kit which one is better off going with for a stock motor, ported tb car, the car is 99 ta with 79000 miles and a a4? thanks for your opinions.

Do your due dilagence on these systems. Though I've never heard one in person I just don't like the sound of the STS tailpipe turbo on Youtube but you may like it. I think they both require about the same tuning and the turbo is a bit more (pretty sure). Power, they are both have plenty to blow your stock motor.

I would agree with Hal. I think most people would like the performance of either system. Both will peak relatively the same on your stock setup because the shortblock is the limiting factor - but they would have different driving characteristics.

Don't rule out Vortech superchargers.

For a front mount turbo you might checkout one of our supporting vendors, RealQuick. Although I see yours is a '99 so not sure if he would be willing to get into an LS1 kit or not.

I would like to suggest the ATI over the Vortech because of the option to get the additional 2 years of warranty for only $49 (3 years total with a couple of free oil bottles thrown in!). If you do go with a Procharger, you might want the upgraded hexical gear for quieter operation ($100 option).

If you go turbo i would not consider sts. Ohio forced inductions, Lt1boost.net or someone who makes a front mount kit.

Otherwise I would go with an intercooled setup with a blower.

What type of goals do you have? Budget??
