ProCharger D1X ?
ProCharger D1X ?
I'm working on getting a D1X head unit and have a few ?'s I need answered. I need to know if this blower will work with the P600B plate? I was told it will as long as I use a 1/2 inch spacer. Also how much of the block will have to be cut/grinded away? And does anyone have a link to all the info on this supercharger as I couldn't find anything on google. Thanks

You may want to contact Lonnie Povitis since I believe he is running a D1X in his F-body.
Re: ProCharger D1X ?
Can't answer re: the bracket.
The blower was the predessor to the D1R. It shares the same specs but, does have a slightly different impeller trim. The efficiency and boost curve have minor differenences.

Re: ProCharger D1X ?
The required bracket is from the D-1 unit. No others will work.
The entire unit must be shimmed forward & the block ground for clearance. You better have a serious motor as this charger will flow 2000cfm.
Plan on a balancer w/ a beefed up big block style hub as the power to drive this charger will likely break a an ATI or Fluidamper. Do not even consider a stock hub as breakage can be deadly if the balancer & hub leaves the motor at high RPM.
The D-1X is very similar to the new D-1R as far as specifications (as mentioned above). The old D-1R model (approx. late 2001) was reworked for greater flow & now replaces the D-1X with the same D-1R designation. Impeller max speed is 58,000.
Hope this helps.

Re: ProCharger D1X ?
I just confirmed my suspicions and the P600b kit will work with a tad bit longer spacers. the original owner of the head unit was using a P600b bracket on the D1x and now a D1. He was using a stock harmonic balancer and making 7xx on pump gas with the D1x. not that I suggest the stock harmonic balancer but he said he had no problems but it's not a high rpm motor either and it's a true street car. (a/c, powersteering, and still hydraulic roller) Just thought I'd share this info
Re: ProCharger D1X ?
The P600 bracket is less rigid & uses a different tensioner setup. I'm sure you could make it work, but the D1 bracket/tensioner is built a little stronger (more mounting bolts & bracing etc). This goes a long way to keep the belt in place at high loads..... I'm sure you will push this blower pretty hard feeding a 410ci motor. The RPM is not a factor, but the required blower speed & resultant force to spin the big charger is.
