Procharged LT1 383, what injectors?

My buddy just bought a 1995 Camaro z28 and it has the ATI procharger, 383 stroker with the FAST stand alone injection system. It currently has 42# injectors. To me that sounds really small for what he has but what do you all think? The car does not run like it should.

How many pounds of boost is it running? You have any rwhp numbers? Have A/F numbers? I would think 60#'s would probably be a good fit for it depending on what kind of power its running with at least a HV 255 fuel pump and boost referenced regulator.

it's set at 12psi. Don't have any dyno numbers because he just bought the car.

Minimum 60's should be in there. I'm running 72's while others are using 83's or 95's. It just depends on how far you are trying to take it.

At least 60s for the injectors. I'd also check out the fuel pump system. Stock style pump won't supply enough fuel. I'm using 60s with a boost-a-pump and the pump is barely enough at 8-9 lbs of boost.

I believe if there 42# Ford SVO's, you should be running 42.5psi with the vac line off the regulator and your injector constant in your tune should be set up based off that. And as stated above, fuel pump is important. A healthy setup that will hang well and give you room to play with would be dual in tank HV 255's. I too ran a single 255 with a booster pump for a while and fell short when i moved up to a 383 and around 14psi.

I have 42# and they can dump too much fuel if not metered or tuned properly. Unless you are running more than about 425 RWHP, then they should be fine.
