procharged 434 sbc help

Hi guys I got what is a good deal on my hands it is for a d1sc with large intercooler but my question is I have my motor setup for pretty much for na. Here are some of my specs let me know if it would be worth it or should I just go juice. Engine is a 434 with 10.9 compression heads are afr227 eliminators my cam is 252 264 6xx 6xx on a 109 lobe sep I want to run 6 pounds on pump gas intercooled do they make this pulley for the d1sc . Would it be worth it and if so how much power do you think I would make. Don't want to change the camshaft cause I just bought it from lunati. For 300 plus. Thanks

In a perfect world 6psi is about a 40% increase in power. You may have to change your cam to keep your compression reasonable.

On pump gas, I don't think it's worth it. I would spray the hell out of it, or lower the compression.

CR is high, but 6psi is doable as is. You'll need good fuel and great tuning. Personally, I'd stick with juice, buts it up to what you want to do.

You ought to talk to the guy who builds the "Mr. Turbo" kits for bikes. I know they turbocharge stock ZX14s, which are running 12.5:1 compression.

When running that high of a CR and adding boost, U can run on pump gas but u will have to add alcohol to the mix because if not, the tuning on this thing alone is gonna drive u to hell. As far as the cam goes, u can run the same cam but one thing's for sure, boost is ALWAYS temporary, meaning u are not gonna running 6 pounds forever so u might wanna look into a cam with an LSA of about 112 at the least with your setup. With a 434 u are well past the "experimenting with a power adder" stage so getting what u need to make the engine live longer or just live period would be the way to go-if u can. Other than that just strap some nitrous on it and haul ***.

With the high CR, and large cubic inch motor you have, I would reccomend you stay away from FI. FI applications seem to work their best with smaller cubes like a 355, or 383 at biggest. 10:9.1 CR is too high to run even a small amount of boost safely on pump gas. Maybe if you wanted to run race gas in every tank, but even then you are tricking the system to make it work with that large CR. Even if you went with a methanol injection setup and ran 6#'s of boost you are looking at thousands spent in the supercharger and supporting mods needed like ignition, fuel pump, injectors, intercooler, new tune, ect., and you won't be looking at that much substantial power gains compared to spending much less money into a "better for your motor" top notch nitrous setup.

If you really want good advice, and not just info backing your want to go supercharged, stay N/A, or just spray the motor. Like you said your car is setup for N/A application. Unless you plan on changing everything up to a forged internal, lower CR, (and possibly going with a smaller cubic inch motor), going with a Supercharger or Turbo would not be the best way to go for you.

just spray it!
the cam and compression are what blowers like, and im guessing you used good parts in the bottom end. with those heads on that big of motor, use a nice fogger, i'd start with a 300 hp hit and go up from there.

9's would be cake...
