powerdyne add claims boost as low as 1800 rpm is this right
i was just reading an add for the powerdyne in some firebird catalog and it said because of its design using something like a turbo impeller that boost can come on as low as 1800 prm, this ad was for an LT1 kit. I alwayed heard that boost will not arrive until 3000 rpm, are there exceptions with different brands or does the amount of boost determine when it arrives

I was turned on by this charger, but after doing some searching of past posts on its performance I am not to thrilled. I think for just a mild deal its great, but you can't get very high with boost, so if you want to upgrade, your outta luck. I waned the lowest rpm possible since its mostly a street car, but I want to push some serious power.

Not sure of your definition of very high boost but the Powerdyne can get you some serious push. Just like the other superchargers can provide when set up correctly. Also, I haven't really checked to see if ti makes boost at 1800 RPM but get to a 10 MPH roll in first gear (automatic, 3.70 gears, Nitto DRs) and slam the throttle and it'll spin the tires as hard as you care to.
I guess I'll just have to stick with my "mild deal" Powerdyne for a while longer.

I have tried the powerdyne on a stock and modified motor. Like the guys have been saying, it's good for stock and thats about it. It had power, but not what I expected. You can't upgrade the blower either. No intercooler offered by pd and they told me you can't run more than 10#'s on this kit. If you want something that is fully upgadeable and has the power you crave, go with ATI. This was far more powerful than the pd kit on stock and modified cars. Fully upgradeable and intercooled. I installed both kits myself and the ATI did'nt take much longer. If you're going to spend the money, go with ATI. The price is not too far apart.

I made 480rwhp with a Powerdyne on my 383 but it made nearly 400 naturally aspirated. There was more power to be made but I had an FMU still with stock fuel lines and 30# injectors. I ended up selling my blower to pay for my 9" and fuel system
