OK so i have got a corvett LT1 with about 6000 miles on it and i must have blown the ringlands. so im pulling to to put new pistons and rods? i dont think the car will ever make more then 500rwhp so i dont need to go overt the top what are you guys think i should go with? car has a sn93 paxton charger set at 6psi, unknown FI cam, bbk headers. thanks, Brian.

srp pistons and some forged scat I beams with 7/16 bolts would be perfect. im going to try the Keith Black 2618 pistons but its a step dish design, which I dont care for, but i already bought them and its going together now. if you aint plannin on spraying it or boosting it anymore than 6 psi, either would be a good choice and not too expensive. Make sure you get some good rings like the hellfire or firepower or such. Also make sure you're running a big enough injector. I maxed out my 30's and burnt a piston.

Are they for sure forged? (I know keith makes some hyper pistons) Flat tops a smallish chamber - assuming they are stock heads you really can't get much more than @ 60cc out of them - The compression is going to be a little on the high side.

I'm a big fan of SRP pistons for the milds side. I ran flat tops over 500 rwhp on bottle and now the dished srps to 600 with no issues. I lost a fuel pump and got some good pitting on the heads from detonation, pistons took very little abuse and the ring lands are still perfect.

I am running eagle rods and crank - Scat is about the same price/quality.

Not for sure... but really if you plan to stay 6 psi... then a little higher compression may be in your favor. High 9s or right around 10:1 is what I would shoot for. CC the heads, we need to know what they are - you can get pretty much any thickness you need on the head gasket to make it right.

yeah id tend to agree with him, if you dont plan on any more boost in the future stick to 10:1 compression ratio, but if you might add more boost later you need like a 20 cc dish for a stock chamber head to keep compression around 9.5:1. For alot more boost with stock heads yer gonna need a JE -31 cc piston or a custom, and now you're talkin $$.

Wiseco pistons eagle h beam rods is what I ran and loved them.

Quite a few guys run the speedpro's with stock rods with good luck on blower setups.

dont worry about the valve reliefs. just get any dish thats around 10cc for what you're doing. and you'd be surprised what you can get out of the smaller superchargers if you spin them up, problem is the bearings. if you upgrade the bearings you can spin it faster and probably get 10 psi out of it. a 4032 forged piston will still do the job fo you though if your tune is safe. i dont think id recommend e85 for your app. just run a safe tune with premium fuel.

I've been using Speed Pro L2441f30. I've got over 30000 miles of tough boosted driving on mine. You can reuse your stock rods with some ARP bolts.
