Picture of my FMIC for 97 TA

I finally did it. Installed a front mounted intercooler on my 97 TA. It was a tight fit and it took alot of styrafoam cutting but I got the front bumper cover to hook up using all the original attachment points.

I have to give credit to BADST95 and my wife for the idea for the grill cutouts. I was extremely pleased with the way they looked.

IAT's in 95 degree weather never get above 107. Picked up about 2 psi getting rid of the 3 core procharger intercooler. Old IAT's were in the 140's.

Strangely enough my coolant temps are lower when idling in traffic. I think the 3 core intercooler was restricting fan airflow.

There are pics of the install at my cardomain sight page 2.

Thanks, it took forever to mock it all up and make it fit right. There is a lot less room in the Trans Ams because it is a bottom radiator airflow feeder.

For some reason it looks that way when I post high resolution pictures on cardomain. I think it distorts them when they shrink the file. I assure you its not photoshopped. I have the skinned fingers to prove it.

Thanks I appreciate all the pics you posted when you did your FMIC. It made the install go smoother.

Here is a parts list:

I got the intercooler and piping off ebay.

4" Intercooler 172.00 shipped (I offered 135 for make offer option and he accepted)

Universal piping kit 115 shipped(I offered 80 for the make offer option and he took it)

Shipping was rediculous

Got the grill from summit

Autotechnica 35.00 shipped

I had the welding shop put beads on the pipes for $45
