My setup:
383
Forged crank
H-beam rods
Forged pistons 9:1
52mm TB
55#/hr high-Z injectors
LTCC ignition
PCM4Less tune
HOT cam
LT4 heads & intake
1.6 roller rockers
Mac mid length headers

I bought the PCM4Less unlimited upgrade when I built my 383/P600B setup, and have always received good service. I removed the blower due to cooling issues. I got 1 SC profile & 2 NA profiles from PCM4Less.

That being said, with both the SC and NA profiles, the engine has a really bad surge around 2K-2500 RPM, and it has started throwing a SES light for the knock sensor (since replaced, light still comes on). I'm currently working on a rear mount turbo after selling the P600B and have found a local shop that can do a dyno tune. I would suggest this route if it is at all possible.

Re: pcmforless tune

Have you talked to bryan about the surge? He will have some advise or a fix for you.

A knock sensor code will have nothing to do with programming. If the sensor is good look for a loud rocker, exhaust hitting the floor, etc. It could be a fried knock sensor wire too, that happens often. Would explain the surge also.

Re: pcmforless tune

Thanks for the info, I've got the TA in the air replacing springs & will check out the wiring. When I first checked the wire (prior to replacing the sensor), the proper voltage was present.

Re: pcmforless tune

make sure you tug on it while reading voltage.. I've seen wires in that heat shielded harness that runs down the passenger fender well burn clean in two.

Re: pcmforless tune

Just did a 2001 Trans-Am with a comp cam and ATI D1SC 8+psi twin intercooled and do not have a FMU. The car runs great and have not driveable problems. The service from PCMforless is best. 4 days from when the PCM sent out till back in my hands.

I have found that by searching, reading, & posting (in that order ) I can often find the answer to my question. You asked for what to look (for) and I gave you what happened to me. Sorry for the chat, but this does happen from time to time in threads and usually benefits others that may have experienced the same issue, which in turn eliminates the need to start another thread.

EDIT
Thanks for the tip, I checked the wire & sure enough it was fried by a header tube. I cut out the bad part & soldered in another 12" piece & re-routed it. Should fix the problem.
