OK, I didn't mean to insult you - maybe someone broke the plastic elbow and put a pcv valve in there cause it fit. I doubt they would try to mod the pcv system on a stock vehicle, and I've never seen another car with a pcv in that position, not to mention that it is probably working backwards and not letting air in there for the pcv system to work. It would make the suction side pull more vacuum, though, and might prevent oil leaks, but woulddn't get the noxious vapors out of the crankcase if there was no flow. Does this make sense?

BTW, you are really in the boonies of SW Wisconsin - I am over between Milw. and Madison. It's 4 degrees today, LOL.

As far as your oil leak problem goes, I recommend checking you're Front and Rear main seals (like previously stated).

If you're having problems with you're pcv still, maybe search for a thread with pics....there's a ton of 'em....

If you DO have leaky front or rear main seals, I'd check for the chug-o- .

Interesting thing, i checked my Chilton Manual and it shows the 93-97 lt1's as having the pcv valve being in the passenger valve cover. You figure.

Driver side with the actual pcv valve stays original and goes into the front of the manifold below the TB.

This is the correct way to route it, except on the 94 the pcv goes back into the intake with the little U shaped hose, the 95-97 go to the throttle body.

On the 95 - 97, the PCV doesn't go to the TB, it goes to a port on the intake manifold that is below the TB.

This sounds correct to me. Stock, my PCV went from driver of manifold to front of manifold under the TB. The passenger valve cover hose went to the TB. All is the same now with the charger except the passenger valve cover hose goes to intake tube of the charger and the TB port is plugged off. This is on a 95' by the way.

I changed the pcv valve and the u shaped hose that went from the pcv to the manifold was cracked in 3 places. On the other end it was almost completly broken off with only a tiny bit of thread holding it together. Maybe this will help the car run a little better. Not sure if it matters if the hose leaks but i guess a new hose was necessary anyways.

Yeh, if your pcv is not working properly and the engine is building up crankcase pressure it will leak from every orifice and seal on the car. LT1's are bad about crankcase pressure. Especially above 5000 rpms. They are also known for blowing the oil dipsticks out.
