Oil in intake tubing

I started to take apart my car last night and noticed that there was a bit of oil in the intake tubing......i need to get a new catch can for the pcv system...What problems can arise from this?

Oil in the air intake charge can cause detonation because it will pollute the air/fuel intake charge and effectively lower it's resistance to pre-ignition.
