odd sound

dont really know how to describe it other than an RPM based squeak. just started today when i cranked up the car. almost sounds like the belt slips then catches then slips then catches...but sounds like it is coming from the blower itself. belt itself looks fine...so could it possibly be the blower going out? read around a little bit and found out the tensioners sometimes go...but i dont know what that sounds like, i would figure it would be a constant noise though.

I had a squeak coming from mine last summer. Found out for sure what it was when the pulley in the charger let go. Started out locking up very quickly for a split second and releasing causing belt to stop and go very quick. Could feel it. What happened was that the bearings in the pulley let go. The pulley had become loose to the point where it could be moved back and forth - found it once the belt was off. Couldn't really tell with belt on. Sent it back to ATI, had them fix it and off I went. Good luck

BTW when my tensioners went they just threw belts and never made a sound, they were just very worn. Just my experience with these.

i have a vortech, so i dunno if it would be te same problem, but ill take the belt off and see if the pulley has any play in it...it was wierd though, once i let the car sit for a couple hours, i started it up, and it still did it but it stopped within about 2 or 3 minutes and i never heard it again today...if it comes back tomorrow im going to be a little dumbfounded.

The squeal can be coming from the tensioner pulley. It maybe time for new bearings.
