New to superchargers

Ok heres the deal. I just purchased a new f-body . Its a '93 6 speed. I have a question about tuning. Since its a 93 I know I need a new chip burnt for every tune. I was looking for advice on what to do under these circumstances - The car has a 355, stage 3 Lt1 heads w/ 2.02 1.60 valves, 42 lb injectors, 255 lph fp, air motive fuel system, 4.10 gears, a cam - still working on getting details from previous owner, port matched intake, paxton running between 4-6 lbs. 1 3/4 headers w/ 4" exhaust all the way back, 4" flowmaster, JE dished pistons - also working on details with this like comp. ratio etc. , head studs, o-ringed heads, arp fastners, msd w/ boost retard. I'm sure theirs more but I dont pick the car up til this weekend so I'm just reciting this off the top of my head. The problem - The supercharger has a spun bearing and the belt is by-passing it right now. So of course it doesnt run right because its tuned for this setup and the charger. My question is how bad is it to run like this until I can get the correct chip burnt? I want to get a chip burnt to run N/A until I can get the supercharger fixed. Also are the injectors alright for a short period of time until its tuned? I think they are two big for N/A but i'm not an expert. Does this sound like a good setup once the chargers fix and has the right tune? Also how much to fix a spun bearing? Sorry its so long but its better to have all the details. I know a little beyond the basics of power adders but I am far from a professional. From what I think it will be ok for now since it will be rich instead of lean. Any suggestions for a good tuner? If I missed anything let me know. Thanks in advance. Nathan

Re: New to supercharges

You need to be very careful.....inheriting someone elses' problem always ends up costing more then you thought it would....now then, the injectors are not too big. It sounds like the previous owner already did the blow it-break it-rebuild it, with forged this time trick. And...where are you located so that someone may be able to suggest a good local tuner?

If the car is already tuned for the blower, then don't worry about retuning it for NA. Just keep the revs below 3k and you should be fine since most of these blowers don't actually start making boost till then. Just focus on getting the paxton fixed instead.

Douglassville, Pa - I'm not sure if your familiar with Reading or Pottstown but its in between them. About 45 minutes from Lancaster on 222. I dont know, the car doesn't "appear" to be beat. 43k original miles w/ 2k on the motor build. New clutch, rebuilt rear and whatnot. Just about everything but the tranny has been replaced. Owner bought an '02 C5 and wanted to get rid of his old toy. Seemed like he was kinda **** about replacing things that didn't even need replaced. It wasn't really a problem to him, he just wanted to move on to new projects. Thanks for your concern....I hope a fellow Zer is wrong for once

Re: New to supercharges

97WS6- So under 3k the tune would be decent even for a N/A motor because it doesn't compensate A/F much for the blower yet?

Anyone know a ballpark figure on getting the Paxton repaired?

Thanks alot for your replies. This stuff would be way more difficult w/ no help.

Yeah, most centrifugal (sp?) blowers won't make much boost till about 3000 RPM, that's the ball park of where they really begin making boost. The pulley sizes will really determine that, but like I said, ball park figure it.
