New setup #2

Due to the log flanges being messed up I redid the whole setup. Here are some pics so far. All thats left is downpipe, find rad hoses, and tie up all the small ends. And put in 9 in

Awesome!! I want a setup like that. Are you gonna have to relocate the alt/PS?

No to the alt and power steering. Might have to change the routing of the PS lines.

Update: Got the car all put together and ready to run start filling it up with fluid and boom white smoke. Didnt even get off the jack stands. So the engine is tore down to bare block putting new head gaskets on it tonight. Last time out it got warm and took out the headgasket(cheapys that engines direct used) Got some ARP bolts and 1074 gaskets and some new valve train parts. So Im gonna be busting *** to get the motor put back together and the 9" in then get some driving done with it.

I like the initial layout... looks good.... Re-locate that air filter so it's over towards the wheel well so your pulling colder air.
Got good potential there...

Got the new head gaskets on and the motor put back together tonight :cool. I already had the filter relocated just the only picture I snapped. I got it up and running no more white smoke Need to adjust the rockers tom. and put the 9 inch in and get some miles on it. The radiator hose looks close to the down pipe but there is atleast 4-6 inches between the two. New pics.

yeah. What did you have to do in order to weld that iron? Heat it up with a torch before hand, or what?
Im looking at just building my own set of tubular headers for a S480 build

I'm interesting in knowing about how you got the Iron brazed or welded. I know there's a way of brazing them back together.... I've just never tried it.

The setup you've designed looks good. I've seen a few others on here and did not care for the layout/design.
Yours should work very well.
How many Hz does the stock MAF max out at? If you run into trouble might need to put it on the non charged side. You've got enough streight pipe in front of it right now that it should read correctly. Seen alot of guys put it right off a bend and have nightmare tuning problems just from the bend/swirl.
Just a suggestion if you'd not heard of that before.
What are you using for tuning? Aftermarket or LT1 edit?
I think you've got a good thing going!

You can weld cast iron, but you have to heat it almost cherry red with a torch first and use the correct rod. I've only seen it stick welded before, never actually did it.

I heated the manifolds up really good and then welded with a mig with alot of heat melting the cast into the tubing and then heat it with a torch as it cools so it cools down nicely.
