New guy, w/pics

Just wanted to indroduce myself, I'm Bill. Can an old guy with an old car (with young ideas) hang out here?
Seems like a well organized forum I kinda like this section, gotta have boost.

Anyway here's a couple of pics, and some details in my sig. I tend to read more than write.

Welcome give a FULL break down on your setup.
Badass car, I am guessing your not spinning the F1 to max impellar speeds??

How did you get through the tuning issues on a blow through carb with the carb hat?

I was once looking at this method for my '69.

Thanks.
It's a 70's 010 GM block, w/ slayed caps, O-rings, all forged internals.
Out of the box Dart pro1 heads, 230cc runners, w/72cc cambers for a 9.0:1 CR.
Comp solid roller 255*/262* 114*LS w/.613 lift w/ 1.6 Pro magnums.
Victor jr was preped for EFI by Wilson Manifolds, 72lb RC inj. FAST XFI controller, 1230cfm throttle body.
The F1 is IC, now its spinning up to 63,000 @ 7k rpm with a 4.25" 12rib pulley 16lbs boost. It was slipping above 6500 with a 4.0".
On that dyno sheet pic, I had Valve float at 6200, all fixed now, new 205# springs.

G-force GF5R trans is a dog-ring/face-plate 5speed, Long V-gate shifter.
7" two disc, sintered iron, adjustable, from Advanced Clutches (new and needs tuning)
9" Currie, locker, 3.50 gears, 35 spline axles.
4 wheel Wilwood disc.

With the slipping 4" pulley it has gone 138mph in the 1/4, so once I get the clutch/ traction fixed, could run 9.75et appox. then I'll spray it

No carb, just go EFI on your 69.

Welcome!

My buddy has that exact same license plate(Illinois) on the tow rig for his Z, which runs high 8's now. I never thought I'd see another one!

A little off topic, but there are several companies that specialize in blow-through carbs. Tell them your combo, and they will build a carb for you. Take it out of the box and it's nearly perfect. PM me if you want more info.

Blowing through a carb is not nearly as hard as most people think.

That is interesting. Now I just need to actually make a 9 sec pass.
10 teens with high 130 mph, for over a year.

On a recent test, at a POORLY preped 1/8 mile track, my 60' times (1.60) still suck

Welcome Bill! BADASS car, very nicely done. Souds like with a little tuning and a good track, you'll back up your license plate. Glad to see I'm not the only "old guy" hanging out on this forum.

Yes, 4.25" pulley, also at the time it was pushing the exhaust thru 1 5/8" headers and 2 1/2" pipes & muffs, it is 1 3/4" w/ 3" now. You can see the power fall off at 6200rpm, that was the 160# valve springs floating. With 205# springs it pulls to 6800+ now.

And thanks for all the comps, it will allways be a work inprogress, as they say, never done.
