New best

9.56@144 I still have some issues to work out their is a 9.3 in the car with some more tuning. The car wants to bog right off the line between the big injectors and the alky coming in so fast it seems to choke it and bog I need to trim one or the other out a little but its a fine line between to much and not enough hopefully i find that and sweet spot and don't go boom! The trans is also throwing fits I have replaced the second gear sprag twice in the last two weeks I guess I should have replaced the clutches also as second gear is slipping pretty good second used to be the gear that really pulled but now it slips and I have to shift to third way early.

I did have one bog free launch that resulted in a 1.39 60ft and a
9.56 at 142.6 this was with low bottle pressure. The next pass I put some heat in the bottle added a little timing and it bogged on the launch then pulled like crazy the rest of the pass and it resulted in the 9.56 at 144. with a good launch this pass would have been at least a 9.4 oh well at least I know the car is making good power and know what I need to do to get it perfect not bad for a race weight of 3875.

next put in a cage certified for 8.50s and put the car on a diet and go for 8s how many people can say they have an 8 second street car

Nice Jeff

Just a random question, but is that David Chernicoff's old car?

Re: New best

Ya it is Davids old car I have been building on it for three years and it looks like I finnanly have things mostly sorted out. I have changed almost everything since I bought it from Dave about the only thing that is still the same is the engine heads haven't been off but cam and the rest of the valve train has. that sucker has lived through serious abuse

Current set up
396 Lt4 O-ringed copper head gaskets
AFR 190s
Big Cam
D1 22#s
Alky Injection 100% Meth
100 shot of juice
TH 400

Thumbs up Re: New best

That just goes to show that is isn't black magic, just a well-thought out combination of parts (and a lot trial and error, I'm sure) to get the best results. Definitely impressive.

agreed,......nice job man. Thats a badass launch. Do you spray off the line? What kind of chassis mods you got to get that 9" to hook that hard?

Re: New best

That is very impressive, especialy with it weighing as much as it does. What kind of diet do you plan on putting it on. Are you going to a tubular k-member changing to tubular control arms, what? Good Luck!

Re: New best

I already have tubular K-member/a-arms I have to rip out the whole interior to put in a cage that can be certified anyway so the plan is to only put back what is absoulty needed to make the car run and leave it somewhat streetable for those days I want to cruise around town. I still have full interior with stereo and all that, I'm not sure why I can't hear the damn thing anyway

I have Hal Qa1s and spohn TQarm/dragrace sway bar. Yes I spray out of the hole its the only way i can get this heavy car moving I sure hope I can find a few hundred pounds to pull out of this thing. I'm open to any suggestions on weight reduction as long as I can keep it original looking.
