Need some supercharger help with Lt1...
This is the first time i am going supercharged. Here are some questions i have.
1. How much power do you think i will make with a s-trim 6lbs of boost non intercooled with long tubes, ory pipe, catback, 42lb injectors, walboro 255 lph fuel pump and a mail order tune this is with the stock long block?
2. How much boost will the stock map sensor read?
3. What et should i expect with that setup and a 3000 stall, 3.73 gears and drag radials?
4. For every one pound of boost how much timming should be pulled?
5. Will i pick up alot with going with a intercooler even though i am running low boost?
Thanks

450? just a swag
2. How much boost will the stock map sensor read? 0
3. What et should i expect with that setup and a 3000 stall, 3.73 gears and drag radials? mid to low 12s if you can drive
4. For every one pound of boost how much timming should be pulled? maybe a degree
5. Will i pick up alot with going with a intercooler even though i am running low boost? no because you will just loose boost - at 6lb you don't need aftercooling - anything more than that and you need methanol/water or an aftercooler/intercooler
Thanks

Map sensor cannot read past 0. So whatever you have set in the 100kpa tables, that's what it uses for timing in boost. If you don't have tuner, you need an msd or equivilant box to pull proper timing with boost. Mass air reads air volume for fueling, no idea what level it maxes out. I'm just getting started tuning mine, installed the 42lb last weekend. Daily driving, A/F looks just the same (vs 24lb) cruising, idling, light throttle. WOT its rich though. I'm not stressing over it though because I'm switching to speed density with a 2bar map sensor when I have an open weekend to play with the car.
Well i have a pcm4less tune for my bolton mods so he is going to be tuning for my supercharger. I am going to get a wideband from aem and keep an eye on my afr. What would be a good spark plug for my setup? I am trying to keep this engine alive until the winter where i can put in a nice 355 shortblock in the car. If i can make 400 hp and run low 12's with the stock motor i will be happy.

My pcmforless tune wasn't even good with bolt-ons, so no way do i trust mail order for boost. I bought tunercats/datamaster and a wideband to do myself. I'm running NGK tr55's.
LOL, my goals are very similar to yours. Going for ~400whp with stock motor, maybe mid to high 12's. Tune is VERY conservative right now and i'm being easy on the car until I get it dialed in. Its my daily driver, can't blow it up! Also, still need to order a spec 3+ because first time at the track will kill the stock clutch.

I think i might just get that datamaster/tunnercats. What is involved with tunning a car for our setups what did u have to do? How many different things need to be adjusted, is it difficult? Also my car is a 95 which is obd1 but my car has a obd2 port which one will i need from tunnercat the 1-2- or y? Thanks for the help.

You don't need the Y, that will allow you to do both 12 and 16pin ALDL, just count your pin connections on the ALDL... I believe 95 is 16pin. The whole kit from tunercat is $255 (best price), and his support is AWESOME. I always have questions, and always get a good response within 24hrs.
Your also going to need a laptop if you don't already have one... can be had for ~$100 on ebay. I got my autometer wideband from "ihavethebestpriceperformance" on ebay for $250.
If you think about it, you invest $600 for unlimited tuning, pretty dam good if you ask me. Our local tuner/dyno charges $600 to dial it in 1 time. Basically, if you change anything (cam/heads/exhaust/etc.), you'll have to spend more $$$ to dial it in again. Plus, YOU know if its setup right or not. My mail-order didn't run as strong. I didn't figure out why until I studied the tune with tunercat. Found out that it wasn't really "custom" as I thought it was, and not setup how I asked.
