do you have his e-mail address?

I searched the boards, found a ton of recommendations for him but no e-mail.

Thanks

I also picked up an intercooler from Jordon. it's a very nice unit a great price. He may not answer emails for a week or so as he is going to Egypt to race for kart racing nationals. He will be back for sure by the 25th, and possible earlier.

Thanks Chris....Yea he mentioned his trip in the e-mail back to me..... and the intercooler does look great.

I asked him about mounting it infront of or inplace of my bumper support... he said depending on how it was mounted would determine whether any fiberglass needed to be cut.... have you mounted yours yet?

How does Jordon have so many intercoolers? Is he a sales person for Spearco?

I believe Jordan is an authorized dealer or something.

Hey Mouse,

Ask Jordan about his front crash brace. It's supposed to keep your nose from sagging if you remove the stock supports to mount the intercooler.

Brook's cooler would be a lower cost alternative to the $700-900 ones out there.

My Griffin intercooler retails over $800 but my inlet temps only go from like 90 to 100F during a dyno pull (719rwhp thru T400)

When does Griffin plan on offering them to the public? Seems like everytime I talked to them they were unsure.

I don't thik it's an "offering to the public" issue. I had initially talked to griffin about an intercooler, and it was just a matter of supplying them with some basic specs - they then sent me a drawing for approval. This was dealing with "Jimmy" over there I believe (but I am horrible with names). Turnaround was *very* fast and was very professional.

...

I approved it and it then went to "costing". That took forever. 3-4 weeks. It was pretty ridiculous. The price I finally got back was more than 250 higher for a comparable spearco, without any type of special pricing from spearco. And there is still the whole bar/plate vs. tube/fin argument. From the time the order was placed with spearco to the time I received the intercooler was less than it took griffin to "cost" my order. Jimmy was absolutely great, a good guy to work with, etc. If the rest of the company had been like that I may have ended up with a griffin (hadn't checked spearco pricing yet, just assumed it would be higher).

But I am very happy so far with the spearco unit. I have some map sensors and temp sensors to plumb before and after the unit so I can get some idea of performance - pressure drop and temp drop would be the best indication of how well it performs. If you get a chance that data would definitely be interesting PSJ?

Intmd8 indicated to me that he was seeing less than a 20F increase in inlet air temps on my dyno pulls. I am impressed with that. I think that is a major factor to consider. I'd like to see some comparable info from Spearco stuff.

And Chris, the Griffin stuff can cost anywhere from $650 to 950 depending on size and whether you can get in a GP. When I talked to Spearco I was quoted $1050.

To me, an intercooler needs to justify it's existence. Being able to run as much timing as I am on less than 110 gas, make 17 lbs of boost and 719rwhp (746 unsafe) thru a T400 - Well I like my Griffin.

Might want to check with www.ls1speed.com if they would be willing to do a GP.
