Need help identifying injector rating. Another ? also.
Need help identifying injector rating. Another ? also.
I just got my Lucas 42lb injectors in today. I see there are a few numbers on there.
I just want to make sure they are 42lb. How can I do that?
Also, I need a tune. I have to drive about 2 hours away to get to the dyno. Should I wait until I get there to put them in, or can I put them in now, take off the fmu and reflash the pcm(tunercat) for the 42s?

Do you think I would be closer to a better/safer afr with the 42s and no tune(other than the injector constants and offsets), or the fmu with the 24s and no change in the pcm?
Anybody have any way to identify these injectors?

Is this a stock motor with a blower? If it runs fine with the 24's and a FMU, it should run the same with the 42's and no FMU, just keep out of WOT till its tuned.

I can't think of any way to identify them for sure with the exception of having them flowed. A shop that flowmatches injectors should be able to tell how much volume the injector flows over a given time to tell what they are. Why are you so concerned anyway? Did you buy the injectors new, or do you have the feeling you got burned?

It is stock with a p600b pushing 8lbs. It is running great as is. No sign(looking at the plugs) of detonation.
I am not concerned. I bought them new off a reputable seller on ebay. I just like to make sure because it is easy to make a mistake. I think I am just going to leave the fmu on until I get to the dyno, then change the injectors out.
Thanks for the help.
