my turbo lt1 vs stroker supra

I had traction on my side and he had POWER on his side. Took him right at 12 seconds to catch me(passed the 1/4 mile), but he made me look like I was standing still when he did! He made 1004rwhp, but had it turned down to about 900rwhp during our race. He's on full hoosier slicks/skinnies and I'm on my 17" drag radials. This is how I hope my car leaves all year, it flat dead hooked and it was about 35 degrees out so COLD streets. I'm still down on power that we are trying to find, but it was a good fun race. That power level is where I should be on my pump gas(I had a mix of pump/110 in it because I was tuning it that night). Car should have at least another 150-200rwhp in it on good gas and cranked up.

Honestly I haven't touched them since I adjusted them last year when I first put on the old turbo setup. I did do a decent amount of testing then though.

Yep... Supera's are all Dyno queens. They make a poo load of HP but got nothing untill they are on the Pipe (kinda like a 2 stroke) But on the top end they flat out Get the buisness done. If you guy's go from a 60mph roll he'd hand you your a## like crazy.
Much more fun to have a car like yours on the street.

get them a 2 step, and then its a WHOLE new story

The "problem" with supras are
1) traction
2) most people use BIG turbos and have horrid lag.

Fix those two problems, and they are no longer dyno queens.

He had to turn his power down and his 2 step down, he doesn't have bogging problems, especially now that it is a stroker motor. His problem plain and simple is traction.

How much boost on launch are you using, and how much boost did you have it turned up to?

Looks like after I get my turbo setup going, i'm going to need to get a headers kit soon after.

Man Justin, that thing hooked HARD!!!! Hope mine comes off the line like that once it's running later this year. How much power do you think you're making, or going to make, once it's all dialed in.

I'm launching in about 8" of vacuum and boost level.... I'll give more details after I make it through the shootout, still have lots of bugs to work out.

Those passes were probably around 550rwhp, well below pump gas level.

What drag radials are you running. It sounds like you like them.

those actually hold your 550rwhp? I would think that you would need a slick?
