My supercharging dilemmas....

So, couple things I am looking into...

Replacing my stock Vortech bypass valve with either
- a brass piston version of the bosch bypass valve
- a turbonetics bov
- or a tial bov

My questions about this, other than the wooshing sound, what are the benefits of going with a BOV setup as opposed to a bypass valve? Which BOV do you guys recommend based on past experience? Is the brass piston bosch bypass valve any better than the stock one?

Addition of some form of intake charge cooling using either
- Alcohol injection
- custom intercooler

Anyone have some pictures of custom intercooler setups? maybe something you put together from ebay parts. I built a custom intercooler setup in my old car, but had much more room in the engine bay to run all the plumbing, the 4th gen has so little room!

Thanks all!

If your MAF is located before your blower, per the Vortech instructions, you can't go with a blow-off valve. It will throw off your air/fuel ratio as you will be bleeding off intake air to the atmosphere.

I'm running the Vortech aftercooler and it fits well and reduces intake temperatures by 60 degrees F in traffic.

If i did decide on the bov, i would relocate the maf after the blower
As for the aftercooler, that is the best solution i agree, but the price is a bit out of my league at the moment

To paraphrase an old saw; there's never enough money to do it right, but there's always enough to do it over.

I've been alive for a few years, learned a couple of lessons along the way.

One of the better ones is that it's ALWAYS cheaper to do things RIGHT the first time.

I suppose some folks would argue that you don't HAVE to run an intercooler/aftercooler with forced induction, and I suppose they'd be correct, but, based on the mistakes I've watched other people make, this is one area where you'd be well advised to FIND the money.

Just my opinion of course, which is worth exactly what you paid for it.

What's wrong with doing the same task multiple times? It's educational.
