Talking My Project is almost completed.

I finally took the car to Bryan at PCMforless and had him Street Tune it for now and will dyno tune it later, when the funds become available. The tune is pretty conservative (running 960-970mv on the o2s) with 24* of timing at Higher rpms. The car seems to idle a lot better with the Bryan's Tune and the new 50# MSD injectors. The only thing I have to fix is my clamps and tubing (they keep blowing off at WOT) as a matter of fact I was only able to step on it in one gear because the tubing kept blowing off at 5700 rpms (shift points were set at 5900rpms). I am getting ~10# of boost before the tubing lets go. It was kind of a pain cuz we would tighten one tubing and go for another run and other tubing would blow off. It did this for about 4-5 times till we just called it quits but I will upgrade the clamps and Fernco Tubing to better tubing (the fernco was good enough for my 4.5# set up but obviously not good for a 10-11# set up). The tubing issue will be fixed with in a week and then I can start having some fun thru all the gears and rpms not just first gear till ~5700rpms.
Bryan did an FANTASTIC JOB tuning this car, it idles much better (even with the 50# ers now) and most of the surging is gone too.

Here is a Link it has the mods and some pics of the car:

Lemme know what you guys think.
Thanks,
Claude

Good to see Claude. Getting closer.

I have the FAST installed a with 75# injectors but I have two troubles to figure out. The second fan will not come on causing me to overheat after a while and the Aeromotive AFPR is no longer building the fuel presure under boost. It did BEFORE the rebuild so I have to figure that out.

Also the rear end seems to be making a LOT more noise then I remembere form last year and the seal at the back of the tranny seems to be leaking now. However, I got a new 3 inch steel DS with 1350 yokes on both ends so that may have something to do with the noise and the leak.

I have an vibration at about 75 mph and I must have the HAL's set wrong cause the ride is WAYYY to firm.

Anyway, I hope to get some dyno numbers and track results this year.

PS: Sorry mate but I STILL have not made any real progress on th Cobra head. Had other priorities to deal with first.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

I finally was able to make a decent run today with Out the tubes and clamps coming loose. It feels pretty good, mabee not as 'scary' as I would like but it definetly feels stronger. My wife was watching the boost guage as I punched it thru first and most of second gear and she said she saw 9 # of boost at 5800-5900rpms. So I am happy with it. I cant wait till I put the better hoses and clamps on it and can do a full run. I had to let off in second gear cuz traffic that was about a 1/4 mile in front of me, came up real quick

Thanks,
Claude

Update:

For those of you that may be interested in tuning with 50# MSD Injectors...If you get them, I would highly recommend that you drive to Bryan at PCMforless to have him tune your car.

Bryan only tuned my car for about 2 hours and on the Street not the Dyno. I asked him to tuned it very Conservatively till I can get it on the Dyno (950 to 955mv on the O2s) and 24* of timing at higher RPMS at WOT. The car feels great, Idle really well and I am getting 13 MPG with mix city and highway driving and I am getting 16 MPG on The Highway. Bryan said he will try to fine tune it some more to get mabee another mile per gallon out of it since my block learns a kinda low but I think this is pretty good especially since I have read all the stories about 50# injectors suck aZZ when tuning.

Just an update...I figured the next person that considers 50#ers and need to get a good tune might want to go to Bryan.

I plan do some (cutaway) mods this week end to get more cool air to my intercooler.

Later this year (after summer) I will add more boost and get it tuned on the dyno...

Thanks,
Claude
