Is my FMIC causing overheating?

Hello

Im running a camaro turbo, with a standing radiator. The car goes 180 F all day long withput intercooler, when I install the FMIC it goes to 220F.
There is 1,5 inches between radiator and FMIC, I tries with a paper with the fans running ant the car is sucking air by the intercooler( I cut space between foglights on my camaro 94).
should I move it forward ?, if anyone needs pictures I can get them when I get out of this office by night.

Thanks beforhand
Greetings form Gudalajara,Mexico, please help me build the firts LT1 turbo down here

If you change nothing else other than the intercooler, then I'd say it's safe to assume that it is causing the overheating.

Should it be? probably not.

Lets see some pics.
How hot is the thermostat? in these cars the thermostat doesn't really control the coolant temp, the fans do.

I run a 160 thermostat - Intercooler is very close to my stock radiator which is vertical. Stock fans. I run 170-175 while crusing at low rpms. If I beat on it very much I I see 200ish pretty easily, but will cool back off after a little cruising.

Is this based on the gauge in the car, a scan tool? How are you reading it? Some gauges are not very accurate.

I believe the stock tuning will turn the fans off above a certain speed. The idea is that the fans will actually impede airflow above a certain mph. This is probably not so in your case. You may need to make adjustments there.

How much timing you running at part throttle and wot? Timing does affect it, although the intercooler obviously is causing it to heat up more.

I don't have my plastic guards in right now, and I have no air dam. Mine is fed strictly through the hole I cut in the front bumper and is sandwiched with the radiator/intercooler together.
