Motor build; could use some advise/expertise
Motor build; could use some advise/expertise
Before i start buying parts, i want to get some opinions. First off, i'm at 5200ft which translates to roughly 20% less HP. Car makes about 7-8psi. I want this setup to be reliable. Goal is 400whp uncorrected, 450-500 when on the bottle. Its been about 8 years since i've built a car motor, hoping to get it right on the first try lol. Here's what i have in mind:
LE1 heads w/ manley valves and LE blower cam
Stock intake and throttle body
383 eagle stroker kit on ebay- cast steel crank, i beam rods and arp bolts, 9.0:1 forged pistons (is there any brands you would stay away from on pistons?)
Anything special to worry about when going 383 vs 355? Downsides?
Is it better to go internal or externally balanced? (Car is an M6 if that matters)
Standard gasket set- Stock headgasket is okay i assume?
Cloyes Double roller timing set
Also, any recommendations on best spot to get this stuff would be nice, hit me by PM if its not a vendor.

ok, so maybe stock crank and rods/ with .030 over JE pistons? 9.0:1 sound ok?
Any dyno results on the difference between stock and 58mm TB with boost?
