More boost for 8 lb. ProCharger setup
More boost for 8 lb. ProCharger setup
I have a P1SC and the 8 lb. pulley setup.
At this elevation with the mods I have, I only see about 5 to maybe 6 lbs. and that's at around 6K.
I'd like to get another couple of pounds of boost and at a little lower RPM.
ATI told me that the next step up is a 12 lb. setup. Do you think I'd be safe with that? Maybe hold the R's to 5600 to 5800 and maybe see 8 lbs.?
Also, would the higher boost pulley setup start to build boost at a lower RPM?
Thanks for any input.

When you start running that much boost you are prone to hurting you motor if is stock. I would recommend against more boost unless you are looking forward to rebuilding your motor. Have you tried getting a bigger air filter on your setup?
I noticed a reduction in boost when I added headers to my procharged application, I don't know if that is the case with you... You could add a better rear end differential to make you tach up quicker, it's better on the supercharger too but drinks gas hard core. You could go with a smaller blower drive pulley to increase boost but be sure to measure the boost! I wouldn't go much higher than 10-12 lbs with a properly intercooled ATI (6 lbs w/o intercooler).
*That means don't take the air scoop off because it gets in the way
A guy in my f-body group here did that while running 14lbs and 2 months later, BOOM! My advice is based on my own situation though, I have 11lbs and a 3 core intercooler mounted in front of the radiator. But after 5 years of this supercharger, these pistons are getting tired!! So I'll need to rebuild soon myself
Good luck and drive safe!
