So has anyone done the old Vortech supercharger and used an ATI intercooler in place of the restrictive Vortech piece ?

what would you think would be required to use the air-to-air in place of the air-to-water unit ?

Lots of people are starting to run an front mount with the vortech SC. I don't know about the s-trim, but on a t-trim the head unit is too big to reclock it where the outlet points down, you just have to route the piping correctly to get it done but it's not a major issue. I should have mine together pretty soon and I'll be ablr to post some pics for you. I've got pictures of the FMIC I'll be using on my cardomain site in my sig.
