What's your stance, straight methanol or methanol/water mix(if so, what %)?

progressive

Hi ,
You defently want a Progressive fully adjustiable stand alone progressive methanol controler.
Sencond its nice to be able to spray 100% straight meth (VP M1) without the worries of damaging the pump,
not many kits out there can handle straight methanol.

My sight is a methanol injection learning experance, with a Q&A , history and Benefits pages. contact me if you need help .

hi maro Z28

I believe in 100% straight methanol , i run VP M1 methanol.
This is the fuel to use!

Because methanol has a high octang benefit over H2o, more boost and timming can be had.

*some systems cant handle straight methanol* so it is required to cut it with H2O and a 50/50 mix is standard.

hope this info helped you
if you need anything let me know

Man.... did you ask for it by posting this. But thanks for offering the help. Back to the 100% vs 50/50, although this has been beat to death on this forum, whats your stance on detonation control using 100% vs a 50/50 mixture? Some say 100% will not bring down intake temps like a 50/50 mix therefore creating a better chance for detonation. So would you increase timing more with a 50/50 mix vs 100% or increase it the same amount no matter what mixture you use? This question is assuming the person does NOT run an intercooler of aftercooler and is using the water/meth kit as their sole detonation control method. Thanks.

Ken R.

EDIT: Nevermind. I've read your site and have a good idea of your stance on the issue. Nice site by the way with a lot of info to mull over.

Thank you roguedriver i am glade you enjoyed the sight .

injection 100% methanol will bring down intake temps and add more octang over using a 50/50 mix,
although H2O will absorb more heat than methanol, methanol is a high octang fuel and will yeild better results, You will be able to run more timming and or boost. I believe in VP M1

I had a question that i never got a definate answer on, Will using this method increase cylinder pressure? I am another stock block lt1 trying to buy time until i can aford the $3k rebuild.

My intake temps are 140* with outside being 70*.

edit: I don't want to turn up the boost, just my timing.

Your site has a lot of good info but you might consider running a spellchecker over it. The kit looks like good quality also. Where would the reservoir be on a 93-97 LT1?

Yes sorry for the spelling mistakes on my sight , its still underconstruction,
OK your methanol would make home to your windsheld washer fluid reservoir, on all 93-02 F-bodies, I privide you with a new one with fittings instaled.
Other wise if you want we could send you a smaller reservoir, but i dont recomend it , the front one you have now is in a perfect place and holds over a gal, so its perfect for holding a nice amount of methanol, and your pump would mount below it on the fran rail so the pump always has constant flow to it, not much priming has to be done.

No cylinder pressure should not increase, but you will end up with a nice even clean burn due to the added octang boost. The cooling benefit that methanol injection brings will control combustion, and allow you to turn up your timming.
The fine mist of methanol will absorb heat from the compressed boost, it will also cool down combustion and exhaust temps

Ok if your seeing 140 intake air inlet temps now, with methanol you should see a 40 + deg drop .

What forced induction system are u running? Do you have a intercooler?

I have the same question it looks exactly like Julio's alkycontrol kit. Is it?

cant tell for sure, but it looks like the exact same parts that came with my alkycontrol kit. Same PAC controller and all. You arent buying Julios kits and trying to make profit are you?
